About the company

Each season, Sweat Equity selects several local child-focused nonprofits to benefit from the team’s fundraising efforts. These nonprofits recruit athletes to a team who raise funds for the nonprofit of their choice. Sweat Equity helps these athletes train and fundraise during the months leading up to their choice of one of seven locally organized cycling, running or triathlon events.

The website's impact

The website serves as a critical role for this organization. Most athletes are weekend warriors, busy with their jobs and families not to mention the training they must do. As a result they don’t have the time to worry about all the details related to the events, especially the most important aspect, the fundraising. The fundraising is where the site plays a very important role. By giving each athlete their own page they can simply point their friends and family to the page. Visitors can read about the athlete, their event, how much money they are raised so far as well as make their own contribution.

For Team Sweat Equity, the site greatly assists in creating teams and communicating with the members on everything from training to important notices.  It also allows the team to do much of the work on their own by creating and tracking all team members and their donations on the website.
